What type of email server does yahoo use and what is the name of it?

I'm trying to have my email directed to my outlook program.

What type of email server does yahoo use and what is the name of it?
Unfortunately, the only way to forward e-mail from your Yahoo! account to an outlook profile is to "Upgrade your account," which means you have to pay. This option is known as "Yahoo! Mail Plus," costs $19.99 per year, eliminates advertisements in your inbox, and has 2 GB of storage. You can upgrade at this address: http://mailplus.mail.yahoo.com

If you decide to upgrade, a good explanation of how to use POP access is here: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/ext/e...

Really, though, I would suggest using an alternative free e-mail account (e.g., Gmail) which allows POP access (POP is an older protocol, used by Gmail and many many other services, to transfer messages from the server to your computer). This way, it will still be free.

Hopefully, Yahoo! will allow free POP access some time in the future. Come to think of it, that would be a superb incentive for Yahoo! Answers users...
