How to setup an email server on your home computer when you are using dyndns.com ?
There is a lag time associated with DNS changes, so you wouldn't be able to get this to work properly. When your IP changed, some mail would still route to the old IP address and you'd never see it.





However, if you insist on trying, you would need to set MX records in DNS that point to your domain name.





Pointing your domain name's MX records to gmail would probably work better for you.
Reply:What your asking to do is rather pointless. Running an email server at home is hard becuase the DNS system is cached so changes take a long time to hit end users. Also, it's rather complicated to run an email server. Google has a good service called Google Apps, http://www.google.com/a/ . With this service, google will actually host an email server on your domain for free. This is a lot easy and it will give almost no down time.
