and I know the server supports at least pop3 protocol but i i'm not sure about the IMAP. thanks

Try to send email to yourself from your company and then perform email lookup below:

http://www.find-ip-address.org/email-sea...
Both site's analyze email header and display you IP address from email sender and all other related information's.
Reply:it should be pop3.
Speak with your infrastructure team as there server will have a unique name to it that needs pinging.
