My email server will not keep a copy on the server - please help!?

I am using outlook express, and choose "Leave a copy of messages on server" under advanced options. However, upon testing this, I see that my server DOES NOT retain a copy and instead deletes the message as soon as my email client downloads it.

What is going on? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Your server doesnt allow it?
Reply:Your better off for it. Depending on your version of OE, you'd sooner or later be experiencing multiple email downloads of the same email because of a glitch in OE %26amp; saving the email on the server.
Reply:Normally you need to set directly on the email server. Seems to be the outlook express didnt function on this.
Reply:most servers and isp's won't do this for the reason of unnecessary used space. if you want to keep email, then make a folder and put it in. if you need it to be online somewhere for access, then get a yahoo or such email account and forward it to the online account.
