Help setting up email server?

Help setting up email server?
Assuming you use Windows - check in your Outlook or Outlook Express and look for references to Accounts in Tools or Options. Flick through all the tabs and you will see "pop.server.com" and "smtp.server.com".

On the other hand, you are probably a webmail user. Gmail provides pop3 and smtp services to normal email users. You can use "pop.gmail.com" and "smtp.gmail.com". Gmail has some special settings for port and security though so make sure Craig's list lets you specify them.

If you really want to set up an email server all of your own, you need to buy some software and a domain and you need a static IP. Then you can setup "pop.mydomain.com" and "smtp.mydomain.com".

Yet another option would be to open an account with a web-host which provides a mail server in your package. Then you can also have "pop.mydomain.com" and "smtp.mydomain.com" without having to have your own PC as a mail server.

Good luck.
